Do you like to dance? Over a month ago, I would have told you a big loud NO to dancing! Not a chance.
Middle School is Awkward. I was one of those awkward middle school dancers; I didn’t like to dance in the middle school circle. I was a cheerleader, but we didn’t have a dance team (thank goodness!) In college it was different, I made up words and actions to songs, but only after a little “liquid courage”. I AM a good car dancer (aren’t we all)!
Dancing from Home is a Workout? So, when Beachbody came out with a new workout program, CIZE: The end of exerCIZE, that was focused on choreography and dancing along with eating healthy, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. Learn to dance from home. Why? I LOVE so many of the Beachbody workout programs and have helped myself and others make positive changes from home and with a busy schedule (I became a coach because of this.) I like to be a team player and try new things, but I wasn’t sure if this would be for me. But, it’s also not about ME, it’s about helping others get out of their comfort zones and finding new ways to move their bodies and create a healthier life. I love my weights, being outdoors, PiYo, running, SUP…and NOW I also love CIZE.
I CAN Learn to Dance! I tried CIZE out via Beachbody on Demand (BOD); I realized I CAN learn to dance from home – in the privacy of my own home. It was easier than I thought, but I definitely worked up a good sweat. More sweat than when I run or in my bootcamp classes. I am learning to dance! The best part is I can repeat it as many times as needed to figure it out, PLUS it comes with a suggested workout calendar to tell you where to start for beginners and fun mixes to keep those dancing superstars challenged.
Dance Confidence Improved. CIZE has been a great morning workout routine and a positive way to start the day. If you are a step counter (FitBit fanatics) you can get a lot of steps in by doing CIZE, too! One thing I have also noticed is I have improved confidence in my own dance moves. I admit, they are not perfect and I am pretty sure I don’t ever want to be a backup dancer, but I FEEL more confident – and dare I say more sexy – after doing just a couple of the dances in the program.
