Practice Self Love – Week One (Three Tips)

Practice Self Love. Week One.

It’s December!  How are you going to create a SHINE and adventure filled month?

Over the month of December, each week I will share more about creating your own individual healthy SHINE foundation.  There are 5 key areas: {S} is Self Love, {H} is Healthy Relationships, {I} is Inspiration and Adventure, {N} is Natural Nutrition and {E} is Exercise and Energy.  

I believe having a healthy LIFE foundation is important as everything is connected, but I also believe people can set restrictions or limitations and create guilt or confusion on what a healthy life should look like or feel like and limit or avoid their potential.  So, I wanted to take the next couple of weeks to share a little more and have you work to create your own healthy SHINE life foundation.

You are unique, what works for other people might not work for you and that is okay.  I have a lot of people ask me a lot of health and life related questions and while love questions, I feel that many times the curiosity should be focused within, working to find self love and balance within yourself. Without self love and self awareness, it doesn’t matter how “healthy” you eat or how often you exercise.

Self love {S} is the first part of creating your S.H.I.N.E. foundation.  It’s the base of everything. Confidence, clarity and joy can shine through when you have a strong Self Love practice. Just as you are unique, your self love practice may also be unique.

Here are 3 different ways you can incorporate more self love into your daily routine and overall life.
Without self love, your gifts, your purpose and your passion may be dimmed and less desired patterns and cycles will come back for you to relearn over and over again.

1.  Create a consistent morning self love practice.

You could choose your power words, write a gratitude list, write a receiving list, sing or listen to an empowering song, meditate, repeat a mantra or affirmation; just do something in the morning to start off your day filled to the brim with SELF LOVE.  This is separate from exercise, in my opinion. Create time every morning for this.  Every single morning.  Holidays included.

2. Tell yourself “I LOVE YOU” and “I ACCEPT YOU just the way you are.” and “You are ENOUGH” in the mirror DAILY.  In fact, repeat 3 times each for good measure. You can also do this by hugging your body or looking at your body and giving it kind, gentle loving thoughts.

This might be hard at first, but as with anything, this is practice, your self love practice.  Release perfection and embrace true inner beauty.

3. Read or listen to an inspirational or spiritual book. Find an inspirational book, audiobook or podcast to soak up the positive energy during the morning and/or throughout your day.  Keep the (negative) news out of your life, it only drains your energy.  Your time is best spent creating a more love filled life first thing in the morning.  That positive energy will carry you through the day.

Those are a few simple ideas to get you started.

Take ACTION.  Nothing changes unless you take action.  

Creating more self LOVE is free, yet it will be the most rewarding investment and journey of your life.
