The end of the year combined with the holiday season is such a magical time of year. It's a time of reflection, dreaming, connecting and thinking about the year ahead.
However, it can be taken over with not only a lot of unnecessary spending, but a lot of unnecessary comparison, stress, overindulgence (in both food and guilt) and the desire for time to pass by really quickly. All of this can take away a lot of the joy in life. This thought pattern creates a negative influx of energy in your life and that can also affect those around you. Don't do that to yourself, girl!
Five Thoughts to Embrace for the New Year >>>
(...and every day!) Please take them, leave them or add to it!

1. You’re loved. Love yourself a little more.
The end of the year is a time for reflection. However, it can also be a time of unintended comparison or a feeling of lack. To swing your energy back to the positive and that of abundance, please take time to reflect on the wins and joy in YOUR life, not the wins and joy in the lives of others.
>>> What do YOU love about your life?
>>> What do you LOVE about yourself?
Remember, you're loved, but in order to feel the love around you, you have to start by loving yourself first.
Love yourself a little more, it's a magical feeling.
2. It's time. Ground down your dreams.
It’s one thing to set a new year’s goal just to set one or because you feel that it's something you should do. Should isn’t a good enough reason to create or take actions toward a goal. I firmly believe that you need to truly feel into what brings you joy in life, write out your dreams (ground them down) and take consistent inspired action in a way that works for you.
Do you want to ground down your thoughts and dreams and set meaningful goals and inspired action steps (or want to try something new to you)? You can get access to my FREE 3 day Intention + Goal Setting Flow here.
>>> What are some things you desire to accomplish or receive?
>>> How would it feel to have these in your life?
3. What would the healthiest version of yourself do?
Ask yourself this question:
>>> What would the healthiest version of yourself do?
The one thing that drives me crazy about the new year is that people feel it’s the best time to set health related goals, when in fact TODAY (and every damn day) is a good day to make healthy choices and changes. While I understand the psychology of it, I don’t have to agree with it. I DO think it's important to look at your own individual health and life foundation and choose the best steps for yourself, it's also important to make sure it's aligned with how you want to FEEL in your life and in your body.
Remember, loving yourself first is the most important step - more than losing weight, toned abs and a smaller pant size. If you don’t love yourself now, I promise you you won’t love yourself more “when xx is achieved.” It's a self-love practice, not a self-love perfect, but everything comes a little easier and feels better when you love yourself first.
4. Say Yes and Say No.
Say YES to things that will bring you joy.
Say NO to the things that won’t bring you joy.
Instead of thinking about FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) think about it as JOMO (Joy of Missing Out).
If it’s something you know you have to do to live your life, then find the joy in that action or duty while it’s a part of your life. You're in charge of the energy you bring into your life and how you react, so keep it joy filled and positive as much as you can.
Remember this phrase, it might be helpful:
“By saying NO to you, I’m saying YES to me.”
If joy isn't a word that resonates with you, then choose one that aligns with how you want to feel or what you want to experience. Got it?
Write down your responses to the questions below (there's no right or wrong answers.):
>>> What do you want to say YES to?
>>> What do you want to say NO to?
5. It’s your individual journey.
No matter what’s going on around you, what other people are doing in their lives or if that random person you see online has six pack abs and is vacationing in Bali in their private villa with a perfect nanny taking care of her kids - that’s not your life. It’s not your journey in this season if your life.
Even though it looks tempting and desirable, deep down you probably don’t want that person’s exact life to be your life. (Plus, you already know you're only seeing the highlight reels, don’t you?) If you see it and are inspired by it that’s one thing, but if you see it and get into the comparison and self-deprecating trap of a shitty ass mindset, well, then that’s NOT serving you - so release it.
>>> What do you LOVE about your individual journey?
>>> What can you do to focus more on your own personal journey?
Find the JOY in your Journey.
If you're not finding the joy, happiness and love for your present season in your individual life, it's quite probable that you won’t find the joy when you have those six pack abs, overflowing and abundant bank account, and vacationing in Bali {insert desires here}- you’ll always be looking for more.
Appreciate the present, it’s a gift, my dear, and it’s also important to honor those daily magical miracles. (Some days you might have to dig deeper for them, train your brain.)
